授業概要	私たちはロビンソン・クルーソーのように誰もいない孤島に住まない限り、他者との関わりを持ちながら生活しなければならない。そのような社会では、往々にして権利の衝突が起きるものである。その時共通の決まりがあれば、円滑に物事を解決することが可能である。この社会のきまりの一つが法である。そこで、本講義では、法の考え方を中心に、日常的に起きる法律的な問題の具体例を引きながら、「法とは何か」に迫りたいと思う。

評価方法	レポート(20点分）・平常点（20点分）・筆記試験(60点分）によって評価する。なお、筆記試験は3分の2以上講義に出席しなければ受けることが出来ないので注意すること。

メッセージ	授業では教科書を使わないので、各自法学に関する本を最低一冊読んで、法学についての全体的な知識を身につけてほしい。また、現代社会で起こっている現象に疑問を持ち、その解決方法を模索してほしい。

授業概要	This will be an introduction to some of the cultural problems that the United States has had and how its inability to out grow some of its own cultural prejudices hinder its foreign policy. Students will be required to make presentations and engage in active debate or discussion in class.

応用演習[CM]

授業概要	基礎演習ではレポートの書き方を練習しましたが、応用演習では、それを踏まえてさらに卒業論文の作成や、社会人として報告書を作ったり、レジュメをもとにプレゼンテーションするのに必要な基礎を学びます。方法としては、いかに課題を見つけるかという最も大きな問題をはじめ、それを進めていくための道具立て、文献やインターネットからの引用のエチケット、更には論旨の構成方法、といった課題を毎回演習形式で身につけます。最終的には全員がクラスでプレゼンテーションを行う予定です。資料検索の要である図書館での資料収集には、時間をかけて指導・演習を行います。また、コミュニケーション学科では、専門ゼミの選択に際して必要な情報の提供と質疑の授業を行ないます。

メッセージ	この授業では、レポートの書き方から一歩進めて、論文の書き方の基礎を学ぶとともに、専門ゼミのガイダンスを行います。文章を書く際に、なぜ他人の文献やインターネットの引用を正確に行う必要があるのか？、主題をどのようにして見つけるのか？、人にプレゼンテーションをする際にはどのようなことに気を付ける必要があるのか？、論文の論旨をどのように構成していけばよいか？、といった問題を一つ一つ演習形式で進めます。社会人の”常識”としても必携の授業。

授業概要	ホテル産業は、今やホスピタリティー産業の中核的存在である。ここでは、接客サービス面からではなく、事業の採算性、経営方法を中心に、up to dateな資料を配布し、講義する。近年、日本へ目覚しい進出をしている外資系ホテルチェーンは、好題材である。

授業概要	This advanced elementary English course will introduce to practical English necessary to survive in a foreign country. The situational dialogues may include ordering in restaurants making reservations and discussing travel plans or discussing places the students have been to or would like to visit. Discussions， presentations and oral interpretations based on videos or assigned readings may be dealt with in class. Mini lectures and note taking may also be included in the class work. In most cases， the same teacher will teach EIC 103 and 104. This will allow assignments to be carried over to from one class to the other. Some classes will have different teachers for each class and they may be taught as separate classes with some coordination to prevent duplication of work.

授業概要	This seminar will be dealing with the final writing of the student’s final project. It should be based on the previous presentations and research that he or she has done in Seminar III. The aim will be to write a graduation thesis in English or Japanese on a topic close to the student’s heart. The final paper may be writen in Japanese， but each student must be able to discuss his or her paper briefly in English.
授業計画	The students can expect to develop the following skills: English speaking skills English Writing and Presentation skills Cross-cultural communication skills
評価方法	Students will be graded on their class presentations and their final writen project. It can be done in Japanese， but each students must learn enough English to introduce his or her own topic in English.

授業概要	①内閣支持率やテレビ視聴率、行政広聴の民意調査や民間企業のマーケティングなど、社会調査が現代社会や広報分野で果たす役割は大きい。社会調査は人々の意見・状況を正しく知る唯一の科学的な手段であり、この種の調査を実施する能力、理解する能力を育てるのがこのゼミである。社会調査の能力は、将来諸君が社会で活動する際に考察の対象となる人々の状況を把握し、またはデータを解釈するなどの様々な面で、諸君には有力な武器となる。また就職活動でも有力な武器となる。最近のパソコンによる集計・分析の普及は、社会調査をよりわれわれに身近にし、修得の価値を高めている。／② 社会調査の重要性の社会への周知・浸透を背景に、最近日本社会学会を中心にして「社会調査士資格認定機構」(http://wwwsoc.nii.ac.jp/jcbsr/)が誕生し、日本の社会調査の水準を高めるために、所定の社会調査関連の科目を履修した学生に「社会調査士」の資格授与を始めている。この資格は就職をはじめ様々な局面で有効性を持ちうるものである。この資格に関心を持つ学生諸君は、本ゼミの履修を勧める。／③このゼミでは、これまでに学習し、または今後学習する社会調査関連科目の知識を実際の調査の局面で活用し、総合的・実践的な調査能力を修得する。具体的にはゼミナールⅠとⅡを通して、調査の企画から調査票の作成、調査実施を行い、データをコンピュータ化して集計、分析、仮説検証を行い、調査報告を作成・公表する。学生諸君はこれらの過程を通して様々な知識・技術を習得するに留まらず、データで自己主張することの面白さを知ることとなる。／④なおテーマはグループで実施しても良いが、社会調査士資格を目指す場合は、単独の実施を勧めている。
