授業概要 This situational travel English course will develop students’ English skills that are specific to traveling abroad but will provide a necessary English language foundation for studying, working or living abroad. By the end of the course students should achieve a solid base of English communicative competence that will enable them to effectively communicate in a variety of situations such as; the airport/train station, the doctors, the bank, restaurants and pubs, shopping, backpacker hostels, pubs and so on. The syllabus will focus on natural spoken fluency practice which will enable students to make international contacts and socially interact in English naturally. Cultural differences between Japan and English speaking countries as well as cultural differences between different English speaking countries will also be covered.
授業計画 This course will focus on building students spoken fluency skills and cultural awareness by practicing functional English through student-centered communicative tasks that are authentic and useful in the real world.
評価方法 Good attendance, active in-class participation, in-class quizzes, homework assignments and presentations.
