授業概要 | This high-intermediate level listening and speaking class has three objectives. The first is to improve test-taking ability by developing focusing strategies and word-based skills. The second objective is to develop idea-based listening skills. Finally, students integrate what they have learned in the listening tasks into a speaking activity. Speaking tasks may be class surveys or group discussions. |
授業計画 | Each unit in your textbook follows this pattern. The warm up activity introduces high-frequency words and phrases. The listening task develops focusing strategies with “prepare, guess and focus” activities. This is titled “Real world listening” because the conversations are in the natural, real English that native speakers use. This is followed by “Respond to the Ideas” discussion questions. Topics are: Personal qualities and life choices. Making decisions and giving advice. A job interview in English. Personality, friends and relationships. Roommates, living alone or living with family. Cultural differences at work, dress codes, culturally acceptable behavior. Lifestyle and health. Daily routines. |
評価方法 | 授業参加度、課題への取り組み、期末テストなどから総合的に評価します。評価基準や期末テストの形式、配点などは授業時に詳しく説明します。 |
