| 授業概要 | This course has two basic themes: 1) developing English reading and writing (and some speaking and listening) skills through using interactive computer activities; 2) learning about environmental issues. This year our Shonan Bunkyo campus is developing an eco-campus project. Therefore， it would be good if we can all learn more about the environment and ways to protect it. |
| 授業計画 | In this class， we will cover four basic units on the environment: ecology， indigenous peoples， environmental destruction and alternative or eco-tourism. In studying these topics， we will look at 1) the ideas and concepts behind them and 2) real case studies and examples from different parts of the world. Students will work with materials on the computer which involve mostly reading and writing. Some activities will include listening and speaking. In class activities will often use on-line journal writing and sometimes use computer games. Homework will often be background reading to prepare for the next class. Tests will usually consist of written reports. Each class will build on the ideas of the previous class， so it is very important to not miss classes since the student will be unable to follow the flow of study. |
