| 授業概要 | This is an intermediate level discussion class. The focus is on speaking about important issues. Students do various pair and group speaking activities to prepare for discussion of the issues. Sometimes students will prepare surveys to find out the opinions of the whole class. There will also be some realistic upper intermediate level listening activities in this class which will be followed by discussion. |
| 授業計画 | We will study units 1， 3， 4， 8 and 9 in the textbook. Health and food safety， nutrition. Public smoking， welfare systems. Eating disorders， fashion and image. The fashion industry. Raising children， positive discipline， family relationships. Consumerism and the environment. Socially conscious business. The school system， alternative schools， homeschooling. |
| 評価方法 | Students will be evaluated on participation in class speaking activities， attendance and an in-class speaking test in which they will be required to give their opinion on one of the topics discussed in class. |
