| 授業概要 | Japan has been strengthening its African ties that it is now a key player of Africa’s socio-economic growth. On the cultural side, however, the two remain worlds apart geographically and in human terms.The aim of this course is to contribute to the bridging of the perceptional gap that often characterizes African issues.Topics and class activities allow students to individually shape their own language needs and academic interests. |
| 授業計画 | Reading, listening and speaking are the key language components of the course. Students improve on these by listening to presentations, viewing video documentaries and by discussing their ideas with fellow students. Week One: Introduction to the course; Personal Information and Q&A Week Two: Putting Africa into Perspective Quiz Game Week Three: Video Session and Discussion Africa, A history Denied Week Four: Would Africa be better off without colonization? | 評価方法 | Grading is based on attendance, successful weekly assignments, class activities and final presentation. Each student is required to give one presentation. Students could spend up to one hour per week for reading and other related assignments. |
