| 授業概要 | Although the rainforests of Southeast Asia, South America, and Africa seem far away from us in Japan, there are actually very close to us in many of the paper products, medicines, and foods we use in daily life. In this way, we are closely connected to their preservation or destruction. In this class, we will study about 1) basic information on plants, animals, natural processes, and ways of living in the rainforest; 2) indigenous peoples and their ways of understanding; and 3) destruction of the rainforests and what we can do about it. |
| 授業計画 | This course focuses on: 1) developing English reading and writing skills through using interactive computer activities; 2) developing research skills using the internet. Homework will often be reading to prepare for the next class. At the end of each of the three units, there will be some sort of test. This test may be an individual written report or a group project. |
