| 授業概要 | At Bunkyo University, many students are studying about tourism and hospitality management. Other students are studying about the environment. However, how many of us are aware of the environmental and cultural problems of tourism? This class will use the internet to study about the different kinds of tourism in the world today: mass tourism, elite tourism, explorer tourism, and alternative tourism like eco-tourism. This class will focus on English reading and writing skills. It will also introduce the basics of research using the internet. |
| 授業計画 | This class will focus on intermediate level students of English. Mr. Watts’ half of the class on Tuesday will not be coordinated with the Friday class-it will have a separate theme and content. Students will work with materials on the computer which involve mostly reading and writing. Some activities will include listening and speaking. Activities will often include researching on the internet, computer games, and writing. Homework will either be reading or further research to prepare for the next class. Each class will build on the ideas of the previous class, so it is very important to not miss classes since you will be unable to follow the flow of study. There will be no written tests or final exam. Instead, there will be a couple of short written reports and one final project at the end of the course. The final grade will be coordinated with your Friday class performance. |
