授業概要 The classes will emphasize oral communication and students will often work in pairs or groups in order to maximize the students’ speaking time as well as have many chances for individual presentations.Skills to be taught:Writing, speech making, sales or product presentations,Vocabulary and grammar needed to write good solid English presentations,Argument or debate,Persuasive presentation/speech making
授業計画 Lesson1:The students will be broken into groups for discussion and special projects. Students’ will introduce themselves. Students will be introduced to the course material and grading method. Students will be assigned homework write letter of complaint to utility company.
Lesson2:Students will review each others complaint and discuss ways to improve each other’s English with the guidance of the teacher.
Lesson3:Students will read their letters of complaint in the class and the other students will ask questions and take notes of the presentations for listening comprehension
Lesson4:Students will begin a cooperative project to develop a business or research project with another group (like an environment research project or, a recycling project)
Lesson5:Students will show their research and group assignments to the teacher for approval and continue to do their research.
Lesson6:each student will have their finished paper with them as each the group makes a multi person presentation with each student taking one section of the presentation (historical background, financial, cultural problems and so on) There will be questions and answer with the rest of the class. Both the written and the oral presentation will be evaluated.
Lesson7:Continuation of the presentations and or vocabulary quiz to check on the students understanding
Lesson8:The final project will be selected by each group and divided equally between the members with the guidance from the instructor
Lesson9:The outline and/or written presentation will be checked by the rest of the group as well as the teacher and the individual students will practice the delivery of their presentations
Lesson10:The presentations will begin with Q&A by the rest of the class. Written copies of the presentations will be grade as well as the oral presentation
Lesson11:The presentations will finish
Lesson12:Final presentation will be made by each student about a topic he or she has chosen.
Lesson13:Continuation of final individual presentations.

評価方法 The students will be graded on attendance (10%), their class work and attitude they show toward their class work (30%) as well as the evaluation of their presentations and formal dialogue skits performed in class (40%) and classes quizzes and final oral evaluation(20%).
