| 授業概要 | This course will take a multi-media approach to English study.Students will learn to use English software for writing assignments.Reading skills such as skimming and scanning for specific information and writing skills such as summarizing will be part of the course. Activities using movies and pop music will be included in this course. |
| 授業計画 | In John’s class students will use videos and pop music as a basis for discussion. In Denise’s class students will be required to access the internet for specific projects. Students will choose a theme， access websites to get information and do a written assignment based on this information. Themes could be any topic of interest such as the World Cup， the work of Japanese NGO’s in Asia， travel in a foreign country such as Australia， the customs and culture of another country and so on. |
| 評価方法 | Students will be given grades for participation in class， homework assignments and attendance. Students are required to attend at least two thirds of both Monday and Thursday class. The exact explanation of the grading system will be given to students on the first day of class. |
