授業概要 Classes follow the same pattern in every class to increase your vocabulary and gain confidence in speaking. First you preview the vocabulary. Then you listen to real life conversations, picking out first the main ideas then the details. Next, you practice a conversation with a partner then make your own conversation based on the model. Then you use what you have learned to have a group discussion.

How do you feel? Expressing emotions.
Making travel plans, comparing travel destinations.
Talking about your culture.
Explaining cultural differences.
Talking about past experiences.
Talking about future plans.
Expressing and comparing opinions.
Talking about the news. How to agree or disagree.
World problems. Discuss solutions to world problems.
Likes and dislikes. Using comparatives and superlatives.
Practice for the speaking test.
評価方法 80% for class participation, assignments and attendance. 20% for an in-class speaking evaluation.

メッセージ You must be willing to use English in the pair and group speaking activities in this class. We will use English Firsthand 2 in this class. Students can borrow the textbook from the teacher.
