Modern war has become much more destructive\uff0c but it remains widespread. Why do we find war so attractive\uff0c even addictive? It is necessary to understand its attraction\uff0cif we hope to end war.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th>\u6388\u696d\u8a08\u753b<\/th>\n<td>This intensive course will be conducted July 18-21(periods 1\uff0c2and3 each day).It is  essential that students be preparede before class\uff0c by reading the texts and being ready to discuss them.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th>\u8a55\u4fa1\u65b9\u6cd5<\/th>\n<td>Grading will be based on: 1)attendance\uff0c 2)class participation\uff0c which includes leading discussions and taking part in them\uff0c 3)a seminar papaer due after the last class. Let\uffe5\u2019s have a party after the last class!<br \/>The text is \u201cWar is a Force that Gives Us Meaning\u201d\uff0cby Chris Hedges.The original English version is recommended\uff0c but is is also okay to consult the Japanese translation.
