The whole class is designed for developing English language skills especially in Speaking and Writing.  Various issues including political\uff0c economical\uff0c social\uff0c cultural\uff0c and global issues\uff0c are examined\uff0c analyzed and discussed in this class.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th>\u6388\u696d\u8a08\u753b<\/th>\n<td>On each topic\uff0c one reading material and a worksheet will be provided.<br \/>I. Pre-reading Questions<br \/>Students discuss the background of the issue in a group\uff0c sharing information based on their individual research.<br \/>II. Vocabulary &#038; Terms<br \/>This should be done as homework beforehand.  Students are expected to use English to English dictionary only.<br \/>III. Discussion Questions<br \/>In a group\uff0c students discuss the issue from various aspects\uff0c following 5-6 questions provided.<br \/>IV. Drama (Making a short skit &#038; Role-playing)<br \/>Based on what they learned from the exchange of their ideas and opinions through the previous activities\uff0c students make a short skit\uff0c an original play in a group and perform it.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th>\u8a55\u4fa1\u65b9\u6cd5<\/th>\n<td>Class Participation (not as a passive learner but as an active learner!) 20%\uff0c Assignments 20%\uff0c Homework 20%\uff0c Presentation 20%\uff0c Term paper 20%<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th>\u6559\u79d1\u66f8<\/th>\n<td><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th>\u53c2\u8003\u66f8<\/th>\n<td><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th>\u30e1\u30c3\u30bb\u30fc\u30b8<\/th>\n<td>We assume there\u2019s no connection between the world issues and our lives.  However\uff0c we are all inter-connected as one\uff0c sharing this whole world together.  Let\u2019s be aware of the world problems now and think what we can do to make a change.
