Students can listen to and watch audio and video streaming of news and documentaries to practice information gathering and organizing skills.  In-depth study of issues related to seminar studies can be researched.  Another option is to watch documentary video clips with listening comprehension tasks and follow-up discussions.  Online website reading or video streaming listening tasks can also lead to pair or group discussion.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th>\u6388\u696d\u8a08\u753b<\/th>\n<td>This class will be flexible in content depending on the needs and ability level of the students.  Topics to choose from include:<br \/>The Body Shop: Against animal testing\uff0c trade not aid.<br \/>Patagonia: Environmental commitment\uff0c 1% for the planet.<br \/>Koots Green Tea: A taste for matcha latte in the US.<br \/>Bambu: Saving the rainforest with bamboo.<br \/>Ben and Jerry\u2019s\uff0c Greyston: jobs for the homeless.<br \/>This I Believe: An NPR Mother\u2019s Day project.<br \/>World Food Day: Young volunteers in Tokyo.<br \/>Eating disorders\uff0c anorexia\uff0c bulimia\uff0c stomach banding.<br \/>Brain and behavior: Brain gender\uff0c ADHD\uff0c the autistic brain.<br \/>Sweat shops: Child labor and exploitation of children.<br \/>Grameen \u201cphone ladies\u201d: A recent micro-finance project in Bangladesh.<br \/>Teen depression\uff0c school bullying: Children\u2019s projects.<br \/>\u201cChildren are Unbeatable\u201d: Discipline without violence.<br \/>Alternative energy ideas in Yokohama\uff0c Germany\uff0c UK and USA.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th>\u8a55\u4fa1\u65b9\u6cd5<\/th>\n<td>80% for class participation and attendance; 20% for assignments.
