This is not a \u201cslang\u201d or \u201cstreet English\u201d class\uff0c but a class designed to help students understand what English speakers are saying when they are not using \u201ctextbook English\u201d and to practise this language in simple \u201ceveryday\u201d situations.  There will be some grammar and vocabulary development\uff0c with the emphasis on achieving the goals of the class not just to complete exercises or pass tests.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th>\u6388\u696d\u8a08\u753b<\/th>\n<td>There is no set textbook\uff0c however we will use a variety of materials taken from textbooks and other sources\uff0c all of which will be provided\uff0c keeping the focus on learning how to take an active role in everyday situations\uff0c and minimizing the use of textbook exercises which are not helpful for achieving the goals of the class.  We will spend a lot of time role-playing situations as diverse as deciding what to watch on TV to discussing who should be the next Prime Minister of Japan.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th>\u8a55\u4fa1\u65b9\u6cd5<\/th>\n<td>Students will be evaluated based on attendance\uff0c and participation in class.
