Students will be encouraged to do debate like activities based on reading concerning controversial issues. Short essays and some creative writing may be incorporated as well.  Most EIC 104 classes will be taught by the same teacher as the students have for EIC 103. This means that assignments could be covered in several class meetings of EIC 103 and EIC 104.
