Other students who wish to study a broader range of skills may choose any activities from the Hot Potatoes database of movie and documentary study.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th>\u6388\u696d\u8a08\u753b<\/th>\n<td>How to write an introductory email.<br \/>How to write a personal history.<br \/>How to research and write a biography.<br \/>Read a news story and summarize the main points.<br \/>How to read and paraphrase a newspaper article.<br \/>Write a blog journal or write a 5 paragraph essay.<br \/>Identify main ideas and supporting ideas.<br \/>Topics covered will include:<br \/>Preserving the environment.<br \/>Climate change\uff0c greenhouse gases\uff0c acid rain\uff0c the ozone layer.<br \/>Your carbon footprint.<br \/>Environmental issues: renewable energy\uff0c sustainability.<br \/>Food mileage\uff0c food technology.<br \/>Volunteer activities &#8211; conservation volunteers\uff0c education volunteers.<br \/>Social issues in the movies.<br \/>Social issues on the news.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th>\u8a55\u4fa1\u65b9\u6cd5<\/th>\n<td>80% for in-class assignments 20% for an in-class test.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th>\u6559\u79d1\u66f8<\/th>\n<td><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th>\u53c2\u8003\u66f8<\/th>\n<td><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th>\u30e1\u30c3\u30bb\u30fc\u30b8<\/th>\n<td>This class will be very flexible to meet the study needs of all students.
