The focus is on speaking about important issues. Students do various pair and group speaking activities to prepare for discussion of the issues.  Sometimes students will prepare surveys to find out the opinions of the whole class. There will also be some realistic upper intermediate level listening activities in this class which will be followed by discussion.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th>\u6388\u696d\u8a08\u753b<\/th>\n<td>We will study units 1\uff0c 3\uff0c 4\uff0c 8 and 9 in the textbook.<br \/>Health and food safety\uff0c nutrition.<br \/>Public smoking\uff0c welfare systems.<br \/>Eating disorders\uff0c fashion and image.<br \/>The fashion industry.<br \/>Raising children\uff0c positive discipline\uff0c family relationships.<br \/>Consumerism and the environment.<br \/>Socially conscious business.<br \/>The school system\uff0c alternative schools\uff0c homeschooling.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th>\u8a55\u4fa1\u65b9\u6cd5<\/th>\n<td>Students will be evaluated on participation in class speaking activities\uff0c attendance and an in-class speaking test in which they will be required to give their opinion on one of the topics discussed in class.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th>\u6559\u79d1\u66f8<\/th>\n<td><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th>\u53c2\u8003\u66f8<\/th>\n<td><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th>\u30e1\u30c3\u30bb\u30fc\u30b8<\/th>\n<td>You need to be willing to give your opinion on many different issues in this class.
