The focus is on speaking about important issues\uff0c especially about culture and cultural differences. This part of the class will be useful for students planning an overseas study program as you will practice explaining about Japanese culture and society. There will be pair or group speaking activities in every class. Sometimes students will prepare surveys to find out the opinions of their group or the whole class. There will be realistic\uff0c  advanced level listening activities in this class which will be followed by discussion.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th>\u6388\u696d\u8a08\u753b<\/th>\n<td>We will study units 2\uff0c 5\uff0c 6\uff0c 7\uff0c 10 and 11 in the textbook.<br \/>Experiencing a new culture\uff0c cultural misunderstandings.<br \/>Preparing for a homestay and overseas study program.<br \/>Explaining about Japanese culture and society.<br \/>Preserving traditional culture.<br \/>Animal rights\uff0c eating meat.<br \/>Violence in movies and on TV.<br \/>Nature and environmental problems.<br \/>Endangered species.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th>\u8a55\u4fa1\u65b9\u6cd5<\/th>\n<td>Students will be evaluated on participation in class speaking activities\uff0c attendance and an in-class speaking test  in which they will be required to talk about an aspect of Japanese culture.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th>\u6559\u79d1\u66f8<\/th>\n<td><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th>\u53c2\u8003\u66f8<\/th>\n<td><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th>\u30e1\u30c3\u30bb\u30fc\u30b8<\/th>\n<td>This class is a follow up class to Ideas and Opinions 1.
