On the cultural side\uff0c however\uff0c the two remain worlds apart geographically and in human terms.The aim of this course is to contribute to the bridging of the perceptional gap that often characterizes African issues.Topics and class activities allow students to individually shape their own language needs and academic interests.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th>\u6388\u696d\u8a08\u753b<\/th>\n<td>Reading\uff0c listening and speaking are the key language components of the course. Students improve on these by listening to presentations\uff0c viewing video documentaries and by discussing their ideas with fellow students.<br \/>Week One: Introduction to the course; Personal Information and Q&#038;A<br \/>Week Two: Putting Africa into Perspective<br \/>Quiz Game<br \/>Week Three: Video Session and Discussion<br \/>Africa\uff0c A history Denied<br \/>Week Four: Would Africa be better off without colonization?<br \/>Reading and discussion<br \/>Week Five: Beliefs and systems of thought<br \/>Week Six: Women Issues<br \/>Students Presentation and Discussion<br \/>Week Seven: The Role of Music and Dance<br \/>Lecture and Video session<br \/>Week Eight: Movers and Shakers in Africa<br \/>Lecture<br \/>Week Nine: Education and Development<br \/>Students Presentation and Discussion<br \/>Week Ten: The Truth with AID and ODA<br \/>Reading and Discussion<br \/>Week Eleven: The Issue of Debt Relief<br \/>Video Session and Discussion<br \/>Week Twelve: The New Partnership between Japan and Africa<br \/>Students Presentation<br \/>Week Thirteen: Final Review and the Tasting of African Food<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th>\u8a55\u4fa1\u65b9\u6cd5<\/th>\n<td>Grading is based on attendance\uff0c successful weekly assignments\uff0c class activities and final presentation. Each student is required to give one presentation.
