This Forum is made up of NGOs and other \u201cpeople\u2019s\u201d organizations in opposition to the economic and political elite who run the world through organizations like the WTO and the World Bank. A conference of 100\uff0c000 people? Who are they? It seems that the idea of NGOs and \u201cpeople\u2019s\u201d organizations has become a very large and important trend in the world today. In this course\uff0c we will learn about all the different kinds of NGO\u2019s and \u201cpeople\u2019s\u201d organizations. Besides learning the important vocabulary of this topic\uff0c we will also learn some basic English skills for participating in such NGO activities\uff0c like expressing opinions\uff0c agreeing and disagreeing\uff0c and making an oral report.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th>\u6388\u696d\u8a08\u753b<\/th>\n<td>This class will focus on intermediate and advanced level students of English. Mr. Watts\u2019 half of the class on Friday will not be coordinated with the Tuesday class\uff0dit will have a separate theme and content. We will learn through reading articles and watching videos. We will also learn how to express opinions and study vocabulary related to the class topics. Class participation will be a very important part of the grading. Homework will involve writing thoughts and opinions on the class reading or videos. There will be no written tests or final exam. Instead\uff0c there will be a final oral report on the personal interest of each student.
