| 授業概要 | English for Special Purposes， ESP II B， is an advanced elementary English class focusing on DEBATE skills. Communication strategies to help students understand and express their own opinions on various topics will be introduced and developed so that students can more freely communicate with people who might have different ideas and opinions than they do. |
| 授業計画 | During the term， we’ll use a textbook that has been written to help students learn about and discuss various topics and to express their ideas and opinions in various ways， in English. A more specific outline， including specific assignments and projects and dates due， will be distributed in the class. |
| 評価方法 | Students will be evaluated based on attendance， being on time， and general attitude in class， as well as effort put into class preparation， assignments， and class activities. As stated in Bunkyo University’s policies， it will NOT be possible for students to pass this course if they are absent from more than 1/3 of the classes. |

Having different ideas and opinions is okay and sometimes expressing those ideas and opinions is something we need to do as we work and live together. Our goals as we work together in this course will be to help you develop your ability to communicate your ideas with others and to build your confidence in doing so， in the world language of English. |
