| 授業概要 | In this course， we will study a wide variety of topics relating to media and international issues， particularly on intercultural communication and the nature of conflicts that are presently taking place at different parts of the world， and provide information on topics such as different social values and cultural backgrounds. To do this， I will use a variety of materials such as news magazines， newspapers， textbook materials and videos. At the same time， special attention will be paid to vocabulary building， advanced reading skills such as making inferences， separating fact from opinion， identifying slant or bias， paraphrasing complex ideas， evaluating evidence， finding support for key ideas and reading critically. |
| 授業計画 | Students are expected to read the designated material in advance so that they can be well-prepared for the discussion. |
| 評価方法 | Regular class attendance and active participation， completion of homework and submission of a research report at the end of the course are essential for a good grade. |
