| 授業概要 | This advanced elementary course will introduce the students to practical English necessary to survive in a foreign country. The situational dialogues may include ordering in restaurants, making reservations and discussing travel plans or discussing places the students have been to or would like to visit. Discussions, presentations and oral interpretations based on a variety of readings or videos on practical issues will be dealt with in class. Mini-lectures and note taking may be a part of the course. |
| 授業計画 | This course centres on 3 main aspects: To study cultural differences between Japan and English-speaking countries and pinpoint possible difficulties while travelling. The use of natural language at natural speed and with good intonation to avoid misunderstanding. To choose language appropriate to a social situation and use whatever vocabulary is available to express oneself confidently. |
| 評価方法 | Grading is by continuous assessment so attendance, active participation and a willing-to-learn attitude in class are essential. |
