EIC301

年度 2004
科目名 EIC301
教員名 J.S.ワッツ
授業概要 This class will be a continuation of EIC 202 from the first semester – however, you do not have to take EIC 202 to take this course. This course will be tailored to the specific interests of each student – for example, for more advanced students who took EIC 202, there will be the chance to go deeper into specific personal interests concerning NGOs; for new students, there will be the chance to learn the basics about NGOs. In this way, we may have the chance for “peer learning”, where students learn from each other as well as the teacher. Besides learning the important vocabulary of this topic, we will also learn some basic English skills for participating in such NGO activities and look at the possibility of getting a job working for an NGO.
授業計画 This class will focus on intermediate and advanced level students of English. Mr. Watts’ half of the class on Tuesday will not be coordinated with the Friday class – it will have a separate theme and content. We will learn through reading articles and watching videos. We will also learn how to express opinions and study vocabulary related to the class topics. Class participation will be a very important part of the grading. Homework will involve writing thoughts, opinions on the class reading or videos, or showing the results of personal research. There will be no written tests or final exam. Instead, there will be a final written or oral report [you can decide which you prefer] on the personal interest of each student. The final grade will be coordinated with your Friday class performance.
