| 授業概要 | English A is designed to boost the first year student’s listening comprehension for authentic English， while at the same time building word power， enhancing motivation to learn English， and instilling confidence that English can be mastered. English A is also designed to show that English can be interesting and fun. 英語Aは、一回生を対象に、本物の英語を聞く力を高め、語彙力をアップし、英語への意欲を高め、英語をマスターできるという自信がもてるように構成されています．また、英語がおもしろく、楽しいと思えるような内容に作られています. |
| 授業計画 | A typical English A class is divided into two parts. The first consists of watching a short video， using vocabulary and comprehesion notes and dialog transcriptions. Videos includes American animations such as Bugs Bunny， Simpons， Snoopy， Bruce Lee movies Enter the Dragon and Return of the Dragon， and the surfing/travel documentary Endless Summer 2 and others such as “America’s Funniest Home Videos”. The second part of the class consists of lessons from the textbook and video Viva San Francsico. Each lesson is about a different situation experienced by a Japanese exchange student named Keiko， in San Francisco. English Aは基本的に二部に分かれています。まず一部では、語彙と説明、それから会話のコビーを使いながら、短いビデオを見ます．ビデオは、Bugs Bunny， Simpsons， Snoopyといったアメリカのアニメや、ブルース リーのEnter the DragonとReturn of the Dragon，サーフィン/トラベルのドキュメンタリーでありますEndless Summer 2 ， “America’s Funniest Home Videos”などです。二部の授業では、教科書とViva San Franciscoというビデオから学びます．各授業は、交換留学生である恵子さんがサンフランシスコで経験したいろいろ異なった状況についてです． |

| メッセージ | Listening is the fundamental language skill. The other skills (speaking， reading， and writing) are enhanced by strong listening abilities. Listening is difficult only if you attempt too much， too soon.
