| 授業概要 | This is a debate/conversation class for students whose average CASEC score is under 549. The object of this class is to enable the students to express themselves comfortably in debates and group discussions. They will learn how to prepare for debates and to be active speakers in group discussions. |
| 授業計画 | Effective and essential elements of speaking in a debate will be taught so that the students will gain confidence in standing in front of a group and expressing themselves in English. In addition， useful phrases and techniques of leading and participating in a group discussion will help students be active English speakers. Students will do research on topics chosen by students to talk about in class. |
| 評価方法 | Grading is by continuous assessment and successful completion of the target task. Active participation and a high degree of commitment are essential.Grades of the course will be determined by the following criteria:Attendance: 30% (If a student misses more than 4 classes， you will fail the course. Being more than 20 minutes late will be considered one absence. )In-class attitude， assignments， participation and activities: 30%Presentation work， homework: 30%Final examination: 10% |
